In 217 B.C. a battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians took place in the vicinity of Passignano sul Trasimeno, it was one of the most important battles of the Second Punic War.
This area has always been strictly connected to Perugia and had a strategic importance, since it is located among Lake Trasimeno, the Upper Tiber Valley and the Val di Chiana.
Passignano in the 11th century belonged partially to some monks and partially to a noble family, then it was plundered by the Florentine army and later it was annexed to the States of the Church.

OUR STORY
This story began 7 years ago when the castel Torre di Fiume was acquired by a couple of architects inspired by its beauty and its fantastic location - just in the heart of Italy, in the region beloved by everyone in the world.
By the time of the purchase the tower was nearly completely covered by ivy and the castel building was ruined.
Following the historical maps and photos, and considering contemporary limitations and needs, all the buildings were reconstructed meticulously.
Thus a profound anti-seismic frame all-over the whole tower was implemented, including side walls and the roof.
The cladding of both buildings - the tower and the castle - was completely redone out of the antic original bricks.
All the slabs, were built up out of the antic beams and the antic bricks.
All the windows are double-glazed, made of the most luxurious material - cor-ten.
